Behold, the classics of the road
They are all-in-one works of art and engineering.
Classic motorcycles fetch surprisingly high prices at auction (the one above achieved £28,000) and interest levels are high.
Hence the success of the Classic Motorcycle Show at Bideford Pannier Market, showcasing bikes over 20 years old, and now in it’s 3rd year.
11am to 3pm, Sunday 2nd March. Entry £1, U12s free.

Help protect the Devon harvest mouse
It’s hard to spot a harvest mouse. They are shy and run very fast.
That’s why to work out how many are around, conservationists count their nests.
For an unusual Devon day out, why not help them?
The next survey is at Mutters Moor, near Sidmouth, and there are regular surveys around the county organised by the Devon Harvest Mouse Project.
10.30am to 12.30pm, Saturday 15th February.

Cellist Maxim Calver was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year contest in 2018 and it kick-started his professional career.

One critic praised him for the “elegance of his technique, overall sound and natural poeticism”.
PROGRAMME: Overture to the Magic Flute by Mozart | Cello Concerto, Dvorak | Beethoven’s Symphony No 7.

Devon Curiosities #43: Parliament Street, Exeter
Most agree this is the narrowest street in Britain, just 25 inches at its tightest point.
However, it’s not the narrowest in the world as claimed by the plaque at the entrance next to Greggs.
The 50 metre passageway is said to date from the 14th century and links Exeter High Street with Waterbeer Street.
It was once known as Small Lane and has been somewhat marred by its tendency to be used as a public toilet. Hold your noses, everyone!
The street with the official title of the world’s narrowest is said by Wikipedia to be Spreuerhofstrasse in Reutlingen, Germany.
