Maltingfest 2022

Helluva Task For Tasters At One Of The Biggest Beer And Cider Festivals

🍻 Big dilemma for visitors to one of the country’s biggest beer festivals at Maltingfest, Newton Abbot. How to choose from 280 beers? Thankfully, judges pick the best before the public are allowed in. It’s a hard life. Beer numbers have been reduced from over 300 in recent years, as the beer was taking up room for people. Visitors will be treated to six live bands over 2 nights while supping local brands including Salcombe, Red Rock, Exeter and Stonehenge. And there’s cider, spirits and the usual festival food. Maltingsfest, formerly Tuckers Maltings. Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd April. Osborne Park, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4AA. Tickets from £5.

Tea House at Dartmoor Tea Estate

Grab A National Tea Day Cuppa With These Pioneering Local Growers

🫖 Ever visited a tea plantation? Us neither, and we didn’t know you could do this in Devon. So when better to stroll through tea bushes and see the little tea leaves sprouting than National Tea Day? You can wander around Dartmoor Estate Tea between 11am and 4pm on Friday 21st April. The free open day includes access to the plantation and micro-factory. Afterwards you can buy a Devon cuppa in the tea house or choose from selected local and overseas tea from small plantations. Furzeleigh Farm, Ashburton TQ13 7JL. Tickets.

Live Music, Cider And Wellies. What Else Do You Want On An April Night Out?

🎸 Cider, wellies and a foot-stomping alternative band called The Long Faces sounds like an exciting mix. What’s reassuring is that the Flete Party in the Park is going ahead regardless of the weather as there’s a marquee for cover. Saturday 22nd April. Flete Park, Ermington PL21 9NU. Tickets £15.

Performed by the Dartington Community Choir (now in its 40th season) and the Sinfonietta Orchestra, the maritime magic happens in the 15th Century Great Hall on the beautiful Dartington Estate.
