Cut Hill Cist Excavations

Archaeologists uncovered a “stunning” Early Bronze Age cist (burial chamber) at Cut Hill, one of Dartmoor's more remote spots.

Their first look inside the prehistoric grave left them “speechless” according to Dartmoor National Park Authority Lee Bray.

That was August 2024. The cist was carefully and respectfully removed from the moor and has been taken to a laboratory where micro-excavations should reveal more.
